Requirements to dummy

Main requirement is, that all elements of the project of card shall not exceed dimensions 86 x 54 mm. Background and other elements, which are in the area of triming must have dimensions 90 x57 mm.

There often occur following mistakes:
customer send file in compresion format (jpeg, gif and so on), sometimes in the format Word, or dummy has not required dimensions for triming (90 x 57 mm), what could be than hardly corrected in case of raster format, lettering are not transformed into curve, there are drawn magnetic strips, as well as embossing, and other elements at the dummy, that could be performed only after printing process. Keep in your mind, please: you can depict on the dummy only those elements, which will be printed.

It is prefered to send dummy in electronic form, using program Adobe Illustrator ( up to 8 versions), Corel Draw 5-14, PDF, Tiff and so on.

Due to frequent mistakes in the stage of its preparing, it is better, to do it in the vector form. This way enables to do needed correction very fast.

Dummy for electronic printing:

If it is needed exact coincidence of colour, it is recomended to use PSD format, which has integrated colour profile. All lettering are transformed into curves, in case it is needed correction of the text, than it is send as self-contained file.
Record of information at the magnetic strip:
It is possible to make record at the magnetic slot only Latin letters.
1. -st slot – information in digit and letters: up to 76 signs. QWERTYUIOPASDFGHJKLYXCVBNM1234567890:;=+( )-' -!@# ^&*<>/ \ Service sign „?“ is added at the end of each line of data base, and it means the end of record at magnetic strip. In the process of scanning it is not readed.
2. -nd slot – there are only digit: 1234567890 and sign „=“ , up to 37 signs. Space is recorded at the magnetic strip by sign „=“ and sign „?“ is added at the end of each line of data base, and it means the end of record at magnetic strip. In the process of scanning it is not readed.
3. -rd slot - there are only digit: 1234567890 and sign „=“ , up to 104 signs. Space is recorded at the magnetic strip by sign „=“ and sign „?“ is added at the end of each line of data base, and it means the end of record at magnetic strip. In the process of scanning it is not readed.
Embossing:
Embossing is performed by means of two kinds of letters:
- hight 4,5 mm – large (OCR),
- hight 3 mm – small (normal).
- Large letters includ only digit: 0123456789.
- Small letters includ digit, Capital letters of English alphabet, symbols: . , ' - / &.
Embossing depict, in accordance with standart ISO 7811-3, could be placed in the frame of following dimensions: from the upper edge - as minimum 5 mm, from the others – as minimum 3 mm.
Tinging:
Tinging – painting of relief pressed symbols by required colour (gold, silver, black, blue, green, possible also another colours).
Area of tinging is limited by following frame:
- - from upper edge of plastic card – 8 mm as minimum,
- - from the other edges of plastic card – 3 mm as minimum.
Printing of bar code:
Thare are used any types of industrial bar codes. More frequently are recomended EAN-8, EAN-13.
Long of bar code depends on volume of coded information as well as of the type bar code.
Bar code at the plastic card should be placed 3 mm as minimum from any edge of plastic card, and from magnetic strip. Requirements to factual type of bar code is made accuracy in the process of agreement of dummy original for plastic card.
When place bar code, you have to keep in mind the requirements, concerning minimal dimensions for printing by chosen method, so that next scanning of it, will be relyable. Bar code is printed by black colour, and the best colour for background is white.
Another colour of background may degrade reliability of scanning bar code. Reliability of scanning is strongly depresed by difusion part of luminous reflection (for example background is metalic colour).
